Ricky Ponting stated he "valued each instant" of his 17 years playing for Australia cricket in the wake of fulfilling his last event for his nation on Monday.
Ponting cut the blind down on a worldwide profession in which the earlier Australia commander won several successive World Cups, two of them as commander, and recovered the Ashes from England on home soil.
In spite of enduring a disillusioning rout by South Africa in Perth to close his profession with a 1-0 succession thrashing Ponting was fit to look once more on more than enough victory.
His 168 Tests for Australia – a record kept together with Steve Waugh – yielded 48 triumphs from 77 Tests as chief and 108 wins in aggregate, a wonderful 41 centuries and 13,378 runs for a normal of 51.85.
"It is a honour to play one Test match for Australia so I've been fortunate to play the same amount as I have," stated Ponting. "I've valued each instant but it was constantly set up to close at some stage.
